JOSH ROUSE FLIGHT ATTENDANT COVER MOVIE
I feel bad for Liz (played very bubblyily by Julia Roberts) because the book sounds kinda cool but the movie was she goes to Italy to get over her actor boyfriend (David Piccolo, played by James Franco), she goes to India to get over her ex-husband (Stephen, portrayed by a Billy Crudup who was way more inspired in Almost Famous than he was here), and she goes to Bali to meet a new guy (Javier Bardem, who i do not want to sleep with).Ĭhick flicks bug me because a woman is reduced to the relationship she wants, is in, or is leaving.

JOSH ROUSE FLIGHT ATTENDANT COVER HOW TO
Like in Italy she learned how to eat, in India she learned how to pray and in Bali she learned how to love. They told me that Elizabeth Gilbert, the chicklette who wrote the chick lit, traveled all over the world to get over her depression and learn some crap about herself. i actually know some people who can read and they even read this book. Another big shocker is that i didn’t read the book. Sure, i knew before i went that i wasn’t going to like this movie and it didn’t disappoint, but at least now i got reasons why. Eat Pray Love is that deluded bridesmaid making you melancholy. You know how you get drunk with a bridesmaid at a second cousin’s wedding? She’s buzzed on white wine and champagne with strawberries in it and her fancy dress looks tight in all the right places but a little askew as she slips down her seat, sips her drink and tells you all about her spiritual quest and about how she’s trying to find herself in Thai cooking lessons, meditation and psychotherapy but the longer she babbles on the more you realize her “spiritual” quest is really a manhunt for true love and you get a little sad when you understand she needs to find a man to find herself. If you really care all that much, there are a couple arty shots of the premiere all the way at the bottom of this post. You know how i’m always thinking about you guys? Well, i got as low as i could when i took the following shot so i could try to get something up her skirt but it didn’t work out. Julia Roberts came to Yeaman to promote Eat Pray Love and i went to the premiere and sat in the front row. Guess what and you won’t believe me anyway. Fans of Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, David Gray, Joe Pernice and other stylish, introspective songwriters should easily fall under the spell of ballads such as “Under Your Charms” and “Sparrow Over Birmingham” where nighttime’s solitary mystery reflects with each aching beat. From the juiced-box and the soundtrack: Sly and the Family Stone – Thank You (Fallettin Me Be Mice Elf Agin) You can practically hear the shag carpet, the faux wood paneled walls, and the scratch of corduroy moving to the beat. Certainly the jaunty orchestration of “Love Vibration” and the easeful flow of “Comeback (Light Therapy)” with its flirty flute would be dance party favorites. But let’s play along and pretend it is 1972 and these are massive hits.

This being 30-something years later, Rouse has to settle for critical acclaim and smaller, respectful audiences who can appreciate a well-crafted album. His easily digestible melodies, his warm, soothing croon, and the tasteful, lightly colored arrangements would slot alongside the best of Carole King (whom he namechecks in the title track), Bread, and the Carpenters. If singer-songwriter Josh Rouse had actually been releasing records back in 1972, he would’ve been an AM powerhouse.
